On Shakespeare

Why do people consider Shakespeare such a great writer? The man wrote in cliches and hackneyed phrases. Consider: All's well that ends well. Something is rotten in Denmark. To be or not to be. The sound and the fury. Let's twist again like we did last summer. Come on now! Aren't great writers supposed to avoid cliches and hackneyed phrases?
