This is an enjoyable book, the most humorous that I have ever read. It is a family drama, the most central character being Judd Foxman. Judd has learned about his wife's adultery with his boss, and his father has died. His family, including his mother and three siblings, are sitting shiva for a week. However, his family does not get along. Bickering and long held resentments are the glue that keep the Foxmans together. Judd must deal with spending a week with his family amidst the turmoil in his personal life. To complicate matters, he has moved out of his house, his adulterous wife is pregnant with his child, and his brother Paul blames him for ruining his baseball career when they were younger.
Through this complicated mess, Judd learns how selfish he was towards Paul, how you have to stop comparing yourself to what you have lost, and how you have to let go and be content with yourself before you can find happiness.
This is an easy book to read, although it is also the most explicit that I have ever read.
