Looking for a Winning Plan

It is correct to refer to the Republican base, synonymous now with the Trump base, for their base is ONE. Whereas it is equally correct to refer to Democratic base(s), for we are MANY, though I hope it true that we are more united in our beliefs than divided. The candidate who wins the nomination should be the one who can most unite our bases, our constituencies with their particular concerns, or to put it another way, find a winning combination as President Obama did.
