Hard to believe I’ve been retired going on 8 years. Just thinking about Mississippi State University. I would bring doughnuts and sit in the expansive outer office of the math department and talk to the faculty as they sauntered in to get their mail and hopefully a doughnut. Everybody knew me and knew my product so I didn’t have to talk business. Great conversation and nary a single textbook in sight. And the best thing is that I got paid for it! What a schtick!

Those days are mostly gone, Fred. You wouldn’t recognize our jobs today.

MF Berafato In those days higher ed publishing was full of people who were unemployable elsewhere so we were lucky to be where we were.
