I can sit amongst people today talking about movies, television,, music, whatever popular culture amounts to these days and I have not the foggiest idea what they be talking about. But you know something: I do not CARE what they are talking about just as THEY do NOT CARE whaI I might wish to talk about. I will listen politely but cannot intelligently respond.
