My Mother was a reader. She'd read in bed each night before falling asleep. Sometimes she'd fall asleep with the book still in her hands and I would put the book away and turn out her light. She liked to read "gothic" novels. I would tease her by saying if you've read one you've read them all. She'd pick up one of my books, science or philosophy usually, and comment, "I can't see into that." Most of the time I couldn't either, but I never told her that.
