As reflected in the final question of Wednesday night's debate, a brokered Democratic convention is a very real possibility. And it would be a nightmare. It would invite cynicism, second-guessing and cries of illegitimacy in a country that’s already paralyzed by all of that, at a time when the party must unite to prevent the disaster of a second Trump term.
