The Shack by William Paul Young

In this bestseller, Mack and Nan are parents to five kids.  While Mack is on a camping trip with at least three of them, his youngest, Missy, is abducted and killed.  Less that three years later, Mack is still filled with anger and sadness.  His religious faith has been shaken.

Then, he receives a letter in the mail inviting him back to the shack where the tragedy happened.  It is from "Papa," which is the name his wife uses for God.  Nan has a stronger religious faith than Mack does.  Unsure what to do, Mack decides to return to the shack, not knowing what he will encounter.

To his surprise, he finds the Trinity, who appear to him as three separate people.  During his time with them, Mack learns love and forgiveness.  His desire for justice for his daughter's killer does not evaporate, nor does his anger or sadness, but he leaves on the path towards healing.

This was an easy book to read that reminds us of important lessons about how to treat others.
