My oldest sister worked at the Helen Keller Memorial Hospital in Tuscumbia in the late 60's when Percy was a patient for an illness I won't disclose.

I got to meet him in his hospital room. Not only did he gave me an autographed picture which I still have, we sang "When a Man Loves a Woman" together. More accurately: he sang and I joined with him on a few lines like "can't keep his mind on nothing else" and "turn his back on his best friend if he put her down." He is from Leighton, a little town I have passed thru many times in Colbert County.
