Jefferson Davis Day in Alabama
Today is Jefferson Davis Day in the state of Alabama. I have no respect
at all for "President" Davis or the Confederate States of American.
Too bad Alabama has to have this day. The question of whether the slave
states had the "right" to secede, whether secession was Constitutional,
whether Southern secession compared to the Revolution is moot and
pointless to consider. The only point that matters is that these states
DID secede and the result was the bloodiest war in American history,
put down by bloody force with continuing repercussions to this day.
What actually happened and the results are all that matters.
