Robert Caro - The Passage of Power

I am reading Robert Caro's 4th volume of his monumental biography of Lyndon Johnson, having read the previous 3 volumes, the first one going back to 1982.  Lyndon Johnson was the first Southern president elected since Zachary Taylor in 1848.  LBJ is one of our most interesting Presidents, all the more because he was a Southerner who rose above his parochial upbringing.
