Where We're From

Some of us grew up in a small town in Alabama in the 50's and 60's with no connections, parents who didn't go to college, no family money to buy our way into a so-called prestige college, but somehow we made our way in this world. We started from Nowhere and pretty much ended up Nowhere. On a scale of 1 to 10 we started out a 1 and ended up a 2 or 3, but most of us are not bitter. One thing we can be proud of. We earned our liberalism from the ground up and what little culture and sophistication we possess. Nothing was handed to us.
