Gettysburg
We come to the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, often called the turning point in the Civil War. It is frequently pointed out that General Lee never invaded the North after this battle. I do not read military history; therefore, I do not read books on this or any other battle. It is also the anniversary of Vicksburg. No doubt the South was finished after losing these two fights though the war would drag on for almost two more years. The outcome of the Civil War was decided militarily in the field, and the North won. This I know.
