So I read this little gem by the famous pulp crime fiction author Chuck Bukowski. This is his final novel as Bukowski died in 1994. The protagonist is a low-life PI who juggles one whacko client after another including a group of 6 aliens who are thinking of colonizing Earth but finally decide this planet has too many problems to colonize. And this was before climate change! :)
If you like this kind of crime fiction Bukowski is great. The book reads like it's his final book and I understand Bukowski was dying as he completed the novel. He throws all kinds of depressing philosophical asides.
Read it and forget it! A breezy easy summer book.
