Ron Rash - Serena

Yes, it's a compelling novel, full of themes, and I enjoyed it very much. Rash is a great Southern writer, the equal of anyone.

Did you think you were Twittering this review? (It is short!)

I guess you finished the novel already. I'm glad you like it. I think Rash has a touch for capturing Southern dialogue.

What did you think about the Coda? I sorta wish it had not been included.

It certainly changes the plot dramatically. I guess George lives and gets his revenge, whereas when the book ends initially, I assumed he dies. Also, I was surprised that it took him so long to get that revenge and that it contrasts with the supposed love he feels for Serena.

What do you think?
