I come to praise the people who quote Shakespeare, not to bury them. Brutus says they are ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man. The ambitious run together, thick as thieves, and that is a good thing. A group is easier to spot than a single person with ambition.
The fault lies in them, not in the stars, as the people who quote Shakespeare remind me every time I am around them. I could pick them out of a lineup, their supercilious smiles and condescending smirks as obvious as the orange faced.
Brutus says they are ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man.
“Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus; and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs, and peep about
To find ourselves dishonourable graves."
Yes, we petty men need to be reminded of our place, and the Shakespeare quoters do us a favor.
Brutus says they are ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man.
The evil they do live after them. Let us remember their good while they live so that it is not interred with their bones.
Brutus says they are ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man.
“Now let it work. Mischief, thou art afoot. Take thou what course thou wilt.”
