Choices & Facism
Grocery shopping today I happened to comment to a fellow shopper, a complete stranger, "There are too many product choices. Should be only two: a or b. One or two. No more than two choices. I don't like multiple choices."
The stranger responded, "Interesting that I remember family members who lived under Mussolini in Italy who said one good thing under fascism was that choices were limited, and they DID like that aspect of fascism. It took away the stress of decisions."
I can understand their point, yet, yet, despite my sometimes frustration at too many product choices, I don't think I would like fascism. Maybe I should be thankful for so many choices.
