James Comey - A Higher Loyalty (Book Review)

A most interesting book.

From growing up in  Yonkers, New York, to Allendale, New Jersey, to Chicago Law School graduate in 1985 to a career as a prosecutor and father of four.

Informative book.  Not sure if I like Comey or not.

James Comey made the Justice Department decision to prosecute Scooter Libby for perjury obstruction of justice. The prosecution was led by Patrick Fitzgerald, then the US attorney in Chicago. The case, which took 3 years and cost millions, led to a conviction. Now do you understand why Trump wants to pardon Libby and thereby excuse lying under oath to the Justice Department?

According to James Comey, Robert Mueller is not a jokester. His demeanor intimidates most people. Word at the FBI is that he had knee surgery shortly after 9/11 and declined anesthesia in favor of biting on a leather belt. His sense of humor is dry and slightly dark. My kind of humor, but I'll take the anesthesia every time, thank you very much.

Comey has plenty of good things to say about President Obama.  The contrast with Trump is sadly amazing.

If you believe that Comey is a truthful and honest man, this book will reinforce that belief.  If you do not believe, nothing will convince you.
