Huck Finn had the Widow Douglas to try to sivilize him. If Mr. Mark Twain is to be believed, the Widow was unsuccessful.
Fortunately I had the former Moyna O'Riley to try and sivilize me starting 37 years ago. I think she's been very successful although you FB readers can be your own judge.
Whatever merit you see in me, if any, please thank Mrs. Hudson.
P.S. I considered wearing a white suit as Mr. Twain took to doing late in his life, but she talked me out it.
"You would look ridiculous," she made clear.
There is a perfect example of Mrs. Hudson's sivilizing influence on me, one of many.
