Revaluations of American Presidents as the decades past and perspectives change are commonplace. Most of the time presidential revaluations are positive. Harry Truman, Jimmy Carter, and Grant come to mind. One of the most conspicuous revaluations concerns William McKinley. The positive spin on McKinley's revaluation is controversial. He should remain controversial. I am not convinced he should receive a positive intellectual facelift.
